Foad Nik Soroush, an activist in the field of imported cars, in an interview with Khodrocar reporter, referring to the passage of more than a month since the approval and finalization of the letter of the Council of Ministers regarding the import of cars and referral to the relevant institutions for implementation, says: "With the passage of this time Many challenges have been created around this resolution and it has received many criticisms, while this resolution can be a positive approach to the issues mentioned in the past, such as supporting the general consumers of the society and diversifying their shopping basket.”

He stated that the liberalization of imports will lead to an increase in the variety of domestic products with the introduction of technology and the production line of new cars. There will be a lot of thought and worry. Because still, according to the promises given to start importing cars from the beginning of October this year, there is still uncertainty in some issues such as how to allocate currency, technical specifications and after-sales services, public transportation and determination of commercial profit, which are all issues. Imports are important, which will undoubtedly cause a significant delay in car imports.

Referring to the determination of the specified currency limit for car imports, this import expert states: Although some experts believe that this measure will limit the number of imported cars, it seems that this currency limit is a supportive measure from the government to emphasize imports. 

Nik Soroush continues: There are many cars in the world of acceptable brands in the price range of 10,000 to 20,000 euros in this approval letter, and the import of these products is definitely from some Chinese brands in the market that have astronomical prices. It is better and more economical and maybe it will reduce the price of Chinese brands and some domestic products. He says: contrary to the opinion of some experts that the current domestic products are far more high-quality than the products in the price range, it should be said that international brands such as Renault, Peugeot, Suzuki, etc. are acceptable products in small family classes and or average in this price range, all of which are in the ranks of brands that are popular in the world and in the international market, and now domestic products will not be able to compete with this group.

Nik Soroush does not consider the popularity of a car in Iran despite the technology of at least 10 years ago as a reason for not accepting the import of economical European and Asian cars and states: Acceptance of this issue is only possible when recent cars have been imported, some of them in He considered the assembled domestic factories to be a part of domestic production, which, of course, has nothing to do with domestically designed and produced products with technologies belonging to more than 10 years, and naturally, with the arrival of other new products, this basket can be more complete.

It is worth paying attention to the fact that determining the FOB price of an imported car and providing documents is the responsibility of the importer, and what can be remembered from past experiences is that importing companies can obtain documents during negotiations with foreign exporters. provided that the FOB prices of a negotiated car model are listed lower than the actual price of that model in order to obtain the condition of being in the intended price range and with excuses such as considering the base price of a car which is even lower to continue importing their more optional versions, of course, the import of these cars is based on an issue separate from the inclusion of unrealistic prices in the positive documents, which may be in some cases that have not been finalized, the recent approval letter should address these issues.

According to this activist in the field of imports, in any case, the recent letter of approval of the Council of Ministers, except for the parts that have not yet been completed or have been left at the disposal of affiliated institutions or have taken into account terms and conditions, is reasonable and suitable for the current conditions of the country and in line with the support It is from the general stratum of the society and increasing the variety of domestic products, and it is expected to be designed and operated in compliance with the full legal standards.
